Knoxville based H.T. Hackney buys Virginia wholesaler

Knoxville, Tenn.-based H.T. Hackney Co. has acquired a Virginia cooperative that supplies groceries and other products to stores across the commonwealth.

Quality Foods Cooperative Inc.'s board of directors approved selling the company to Hackney on Friday for an undisclosed amount.

Madison Heights-based Quality Food was established in 1947. It employs about 100 people.

H.T. Hackney services more than 20,000 retail customers.
